What the system senses, how it decides, who it tells, and what it deliberately does not do.
WanderCare is a camera-free home safety kit we're building and will install ourselves, sized to each home. Radar and door sensors report to one home hub, which alerts the people the older adult chose. It's a prototype, not a medical device, and fall detection hasn't been tested in a real home yet. Anything marked planned isn't built.
Planned design. Alerts go to the people the older adult picked, in the order they set. Nothing goes to a call center unless they choose one. The hub never calls 911 or the police itself: alerts go to the people the older adult picked, one of them calls 911 if it's needed, and the older adult can choose to stop at their people instead.
| Tier | Who is reached | Path |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Chosen support network (elder-ordered list) | Home internet (cellular and mesh backup planned) |
| 2 | Secondary contacts / on-call support | Fallback path if Tier 1 unacknowledged |
| 3 | Social worker or community contact (only if the older adult adds one) | If earlier contacts don't answer |
| 4 | Emergency services (911) | Called by one of the older adult's people if it's needed, never by the hub. The older adult can choose to stop at their people. WanderCare doesn't replace calling 911. |

WanderCare is a prototype and pre-revenue, with no customers yet. A radar sensor is reporting into the hub in one test home; testing fall detection is next. Once funded, a 3-month pilot in 6 DC and Maryland homes follows. We do not publish testimonials, pilot satisfaction figures, or ship dates we have not earned.
WanderCare is being built as a commercial product, and we will install it. Helping low-income older adults get it through grants is a goal, not something we offer yet.
