Scholarship program terms
The following terms apply to the Wandering With Pride scholarship program:
- Eligibility: Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria at the time of application and throughout their program. Misrepresentation of eligibility (including LGBTQ+ identity, financial need, enrollment status, or citizenship) may result in immediate disqualification or clawback of funds.
- Application accuracy: By submitting an application, you certify that all information provided is accurate and complete. Deliberate falsification is grounds for permanent ineligibility.
- Selection decisions are final: Scholarship award decisions are made at the sole discretion of Wandering With Pride. We do not provide feedback on non-selected applications. Selection decisions are not subject to appeal.
- Fund disbursement: Scholarship funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's study-abroad program or educational institution. We do not disburse funds directly to individual recipients except in approved circumstances.
- Reporting requirements: Award recipients agree to provide a brief written reflection upon completion of their program. This reflection may be used (with consent) for organizational communications and fundraising.
- Unused funds: If a recipient withdraws from their program, scholarship funds already disbursed to the institution are not refundable to WWP. Recipients who withdraw before disbursement forfeit the award.
- Tax treatment: Scholarship funds used for qualified educational expenses are generally not taxable income. Recipients are responsible for understanding their own tax obligations and are encouraged to consult a tax professional.
Pride Ambassador program terms
The following terms apply to the Pride Ambassador program. More detailed terms are provided upon acceptance into the program.
- Revenue split: The 60/30/10 revenue split (60% to ambassador, 30% to scholarships, 10% to Pride Fund) applies to all brand sponsorships arranged through or credited to the Ambassador program. The split is non-negotiable.
- Content standards: Ambassadors agree to create content that is honest, accurate, and consistent with WWP's mission and values. Content that misrepresents travel experiences, endangers safety, promotes discrimination, or is factually false may result in suspension or termination.
- Independent contractor status: Ambassadors are independent contractors, not employees of WWP. Ambassadors are responsible for their own taxes, including self-employment tax on program income.
- Termination: WWP may terminate an ambassador's participation at any time for violation of these Terms, program policies, or conduct that we determine is inconsistent with our mission. Ambassadors may withdraw from the program at any time with 30 days' written notice.
- Application accuracy: By applying, you certify that information provided (follower counts, engagement rates, brand relationships) is accurate. Material misrepresentation is grounds for immediate termination.
Donations
Wandering With Pride is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We will provide a written acknowledgment for any donation of $250 or more.
All donations are processed by Stripe. By making a donation, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. WWP does not store payment card information.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us at hello@wanderingwithpride.org within 7 days and we will review your request.
Donated funds are used at the discretion of WWP's Board of Directors in furtherance of our charitable mission. Donors may designate a gift for a specific program (e.g., scholarship fund), and we will honor that designation unless the program is discontinued, in which case funds will be redirected to our general operating fund with donor notification.
Volunteer terms
Volunteers serve at the discretion of WWP and may be released from volunteer duties at any time. Volunteers agree to maintain the confidentiality of any non-public information they access in the course of their service, including scholarship applicant information. Breach of confidentiality may result in removal from the volunteer program and, in cases involving personal data, may constitute a violation of applicable law.
