WanderYouth LGBTQ+

LGBTQ+ youth safe space — Trevor Project: 41% considered suicide, single supportive adult cuts attempts 40%, TikTok suppresses LGBTQ+ content, highest privacy tier, zero data sharing.

Safety & Privacy
ReplacesNo equivalent (TikTok suppresses LGBTQ+ content / Discord unmoderated / apps collect data accessible to parents)

The Trevor Project's 2023 survey found that 41% of LGBTQ+ youth seriously considered suicide in the past year — and that LGBTQ+ youth with at least one accepting adult are 40% less likely to report a suicide attempt. The intervention that most directly saves LGBTQ+ young lives is not a clinical tool; it is a relationship with a caring adult. TikTok's restricted mode disproportionately suppresses LGBTQ+ content, documented by independent audits. Discord LGBTQ+ servers are frequently unmoderated and unsafe. Apps collect data accessible to parents, schools, and hostile actors. There is no digital space built first for LGBTQ+ youth safety by an organization accountable to them. WanderYouth LGBTQ+ is that space: coming out resources by context (conservative family / rural / religious household / physical safety risk), school legal rights navigation (Title IX, Equal Access Act for GSAs), background-checked supportive adult connection with youth-initiated-only contact, crisis resources that don't require self-identification as in crisis, and scholarship and financial navigation for youth facing or anticipating family rejection. Highest privacy tier: no behavioral tracking, no parent disclosure, cover screen for monitored devices, accessible over Tor without an account.

  • Coming out resources by context: conservative family, rural, religious, physical safety risk — not generic
  • School legal rights: Title IX, Equal Access Act for GSAs, Bostock protections — enforced even in hostile states
  • Supportive adult network: background-checked, trained, youth-initiated contact only — no adult can initiate
  • Crisis resources ambient — not gated behind self-identification as in crisis
  • Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, Crisis Text Line integrated — 988 LGBTQ+ sub-line ended July 2025
  • Cover screen: single action switches display if device suddenly visible to hostile adult
  • No parent or school disclosure: highest privacy tier in WanderVerse ecosystem
  • Scholarship database: LGBTQ+ scholarships, emergency funding, college resources for estranged students
  • Accessible over Tor without account: read-only mode for highest-risk situations
  • WanderSOS integration: safety planning vault for youth, crisis escalation without police default

Hand-assembled

Built by supported employment workers — people with intellectual disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities — through WWP's fulfillment program. Every product ships with a Built By card. Competitive wage, never 14(c) subminimum.

Repair & refurb

Send it back. Prepaid label. Component-level repair, module upgrades, firmware updates. 7-year spare parts guarantee. Donate on return — refurbished hardware goes to shelter and community partners. GPL firmware: the device works even if WanderVerse shuts down.

No hardware subscription — ever

BMW charged $18/mo for heated seats already in your car. GM locked remote start. Eero charges for VPN on hardware that could run it free. We don't do that. You bought it, you own it — every feature works forever, no subscription required. WanderAssist ($9/mo optional) is a convenience layer, never a gate. Safety features are never paywalled.

Pro & Lux tiers — coming

Every WanderVerse hardware product will offer Pro and Lux finish tiers — premium materials and handcrafted finishes by WanderVerse Artisans: supported employment workers with artistic skills. Each Lux unit ships with a Finished By card. Lux revenue cross-subsidizes nonprofit pricing.
