WanderBot is the anti-Spot. As of November 2025, 60+ US police bomb squads and SWAT teams run Boston Dynamics Spot — mostly funded by Homeland Security grants with no civil liberties conditions attached. Amazon Astro streams behavioral data to AWS for advertising and law enforcement. Airport robots feed facial recognition databases that NIST documented as 10–100x more likely to falsely flag Black women than white men. LLM-integrated elder companion robots (ElliQ, PARO successors) are arriving in care facilities without consent frameworks for the conversational transcripts they generate. Humanoid robots (Atlas at $140K, Optimus targeting $20–30K) are moving from factory floors toward elder care settings faster than governance frameworks exist to receive them. WanderBot is the governance infrastructure. It audits robotic platforms for privacy and physical autonomy (four-track framework modeled on WanderSecure), maintains a verified open hardware directory including Hello Robot Stretch RE3, OpenBionics Ada Hand, the e-NABLE prosthetics network, and Hugging Face LeRobot/SO-ARM101, defines the binding WanderVerse Companion Robotics Standard that gates any WanderElder or WanderKid robotic deployment, integrates offline-only robotic sensing into safe-haven shelters via Meshtastic mesh, and runs the only public registry of police robot deployments organized by department, funding source, and civil liberties incident. No robot in the WanderVerse ecosystem sends behavioral data to a cloud, profiles users, shares data with law enforcement, or removes human override — those are architectural requirements, not aspirations.
